Searching for the daily porn stuff I’ve noticed theese two VERY good papers on Realtime Raytracing using nowadays graphics cards.
Both the papers illustrates some interesting ways of using programmable GPUs to get a raytracing engine.

nVIDIA Occlusion Query demo.

Just noticed on OpenGL.org a link to a new demos showing off the power of GL_NV_OCCLUSION_QUERY extension for nVIDIA cards. A very interesting benchmark for this function that will probably be part of the new openGL 2.0 specifics. Visit the demo page here.
